The Pre-Intermediate 1 English course (ENG3) is a structured academic English program designed for students who have already developed basic English skills and are ready to expand their ability to communicate with greater independence, accuracy, and confidence in everyday, workplace, and community contexts.
The course follows a spiral progression model, integrating:
Conversational English for practical interaction in everyday social, service, work, and community situations
Grammar instruction to strengthen students' command of the present and past tenses and the initial forms of the future tense, as well as sentence structure and question formation
Academic and functional literacy skills for reading, writing, editing, and understanding short academic texts and structured paragraphs commonly used in real-life, workplace, and social integration contexts
What are your expectations for this course?
Frequency: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Course duration: 3 consecutive months, without breaks
Duration of each class: 90 minutes
Instruction hours: 58.5 hours total
Number of students: Small groups, maximum of 15 students.
A minimum of 6 students is required to open the class.
The maximum number of students allowed is 15 per section.
