The Course English Elementary 1 (ENG1) This is a structured academic English course designed for students who are developing basic skills for communication, functional literacy, and successful participation in everyday, workplace, and community contexts. The course follows a spiral progression model, integrating conversational English, grammar instruction, activities to develop fluency, and discovery-based tasks.
Conversational English for practical interaction in daily life and in service-related situations
Grammar instruction to promote accuracy, clarity, and mastery of basic structures
Academic/functional literacy for reading, writing, editing, and understanding short, real-life texts
Self-paced reinforcement, supplemented by recorded review sessions in the community, to ensure continuity of learning between live classes.
What are your expectations for this course?
Frequency: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Course duration: 3 consecutive months, without breaks
Duration of each class: 90 minutes
Instruction hours: 58.5 hours total
Number of students: Small groups, maximum of 15 students.
A minimum of 6 students is required to open the class.
The maximum number of students allowed is 15 per section.
